Dr. Strandburg provides dental cleanings and exams for children and adults throughout Middle Georgia.
To remove dental plaque and prevent cavities and other oral diseases, you should receive a professional dental cleaning at least every six months. Even with careful brushing and flossing, certain areas of your mouth are too difficult to clean on your own.

What to Expect at Your Dental Cleaning
During a routine dental cleaning and exam, we take several steps to ensure your oral health, including:

Oral Exam
We begin by examining the health of your gums and charting your existing restorations, including fillings, crowns, and other dental work.

Dental X-rays
We then take dental X-rays, which provide us with clear images of the inside of your mouth and teeth.

Cancer Screening
We will perform an oral cancer screening to ensure there are no abnormalities such as red or white patches, sores, lumps, or other suspicious lesions that could indicate precancerous or cancerous changes.

Teeth Cleaning
We will perform a thorough teeth cleaning service, complete with polishing, flossing, and the removal of plaque.

Recommendations
If we find something wrong during your exam and cleaning, we will present recommendations to correct the issue and restore optimum oral health.

“Happy Visits”
for the Kiddos
You can bring children three years old or older in for a dental cleaning and exam. Children under three or who are hesitant about visiting the dentist are welcome to join us for a “happy visit” at no charge. During this visit, we let them ride in the dental chair, watch cartoons while we count their teeth, and receive something from the treasure box at the end. Parents are absolutely allowed in the treatment room. Hopefully, the “happy visit” will make your child less anxious (and maybe even excited!) when you bring them back to see us.
