Is fluoride safe for my child?
Yes! Fluoride is safe for children in small doses. Fluoride is a mineral that strengthens your teeth’s enamel. According to the American Dental Association, it is known as ânature’s cavity fighter.â (Did you know that it is common for tap water to have fluoride in it? Give your child water instead of juice!)
What should I do if my child has a toothache?
Don’t ignore the child’s toothache, as it normally represents an underlying issue. If your child is old enough, ask him to gargle and rinse the area with warm saltwater. Then, schedule an appointment with your Warner Robins dentist so we can see what the underlying issue is.
Is it okay for my child to go to bed with a sippy cup?
Many kids find comfort in going to bed with their sippy cup. However, if there is anything in the sippy cup other than water, it can be detrimental to their oral health. If eliminating the sippy cup from their bed isn’t possible, only put water in the cup. Avoid milk and juice at all costs.
When should I start brushing my child’s teeth?
We recommend brushing their teeth as soon as they erupt from the gums! You can use a small, child-size toothbrush and a very little amount of toothpaste to brush their teeth. Regularly brushing their teeth from the beginning will give them a solid foundation for their dental health.
