smiling woman with dental veneers

Now that you have your veneers in place, we’re sure you are smiling from ear to ear! And why wouldn’t you?! Your smile is bright and full… show it off! To keep your veneers in great shape, make sure to follow these simple recommendations:

1. Watch What You Eat or Drink

To keep your veneers the right color, avoid consuming foods or drinks that will easily stain them. A few drinks and foods to avoid include coffee, tea, or foods with excessive artificial coloring. Speaking of color, when you get veneers, your dentist will match the color of your veneers to your surrounding teeth. This helps optimize the natural look!

2. Don’t Grind Your Teeth or Bite Hard Objects

Your veneers are thin coverings that are placed on top of your teeth. They must be thin in order to look natural. Because of this, they can break. Avoid grinding or clenching your teeth or biting into hard objects.

3. Implement Healthy Oral Hygiene Practices

Even though your veneers are covering the front of your teeth, cavities can still form under or around your veneers. Brush and floss your teeth just as you would without veneers – twice every day or, even better, each time after you eat. We highly recommend using products that have the American Dental Association’s Seal of Acceptance. These products have been certified as safe and effective.
